Place 450g (1lb) sausage meat in a mixing bowl. Peel, core and very finely chop one apple, add to the bowl with 1 teaspoon of dried sage or oregano and 25g (1oz) breadcrumbs. Mix until well combined.
Divide into 4 portions and shape into burgers, pressing together well.Season 1 tablespoon flour with salt and pepper and use to dust the burgers.
Heat2 tablespoons oil in a frying pan and fry the burgers over a medium heat for about 6 to 8 minutes each side.
Serve in burger buns roll or bread muffin with tomatoes, lettuce relish or pickles.
