#CookBlogShare The weekly Food linky where food bloggers are invited to link their food and recipe posts and readers get the chance to see what other bloggers are posting.
HAPPY NEW YEAR and Welcome to the first #CookBlogShare of 2019.
I'm delighted to report that over 2018 #CookBlogShare has continued to flourish. We started the year with the linky being hosted by Eb from Easy Peasy Foodie, Monica from Everyday healthy Recipes, Kirsty from Hi-jacked by Twins and myself. Sadly back in June, we said goodbye to Kirsty when she hung up her blogging apron for the last time and we miss her a lot. Though luckily for us some lovely volunteers from regular #CookBlogShare contributors stepped into the breach by guest posting the slots that would have originally been filled by Kirsty. We couldn't have done it without you so a huge THANK YOU from Eb, Monica and myself to those that guest hosted in 2018.
We enjoyed having guests hosts so much that we have decided to continue. So during 2019, you will find #CookBlogShare here on Recipes Made Easy every 1st Tuesday of the month, on Everyday Healthy Recipes every 2nd Tuesday of the month and at Easy Peasy Foodie on the last Tuesday of every month. The remaining Tuesdays it will be found on a guest host's blogs. The full schedule of where to find #CookBlogShare will be available here (as soon as I have guests host confirmed and can update it). If you would like to know more about guest hosting #CookBlogShare do let me know.
During 2018, we had a new #CookBogShare logo for the linky and Facebook Group. New for 2019 is a brand new #CookBlogShare Pinterest sharing board. Invites to pin to our group board will be going out to guests host soon and then we will be opening it up to all contributors. Keep a look out for the general invite on the #CookBlogShare Facebook Page within the next couple of months.
The best of #CookBlogShare 2018
Usually, on #CookBlogShare we share a few of our favourite posts linked from the previous weeks linky but for this first one of the year, I am doing something a little different. This is my pick of the favourites recipes linked up to #CookBlogShare on Recipes Made Easy in 2018. With up to 46 delicious recipes linked each week choosing my favourites was really hard, thank you to everyone who linked up I'm sorry I can not include them all.
January
Too often January can be all about dieting and abstinence after the festive period. But sometimes it can seem a very long and cold month, so a little indulgence can really help boost one's spirits. Perhaps this is why this Lemon Curd Cheesecake from Jo's Kitchen Larder really caught my eye when she linked it up last January. Also, popular last January were soups with several linked up including; Tin and Thymes Apple Parsnip soup, Roasted Carrot and Chick Pea Soup from Jagruti's Cooking Odyssey and for those who did want to watch the calories Feeding Boys shared her Slimming World Aromatic Carrot Soup.
February
Queen of leftovers ( and traybakes) Easy Peasy Foodie shared her recipe for Leftover Lamb Shepherds Pie perfect for cold February days. Pulled Chicken the healthy way from Everyday Healthy Recipes and Lost in Food's Smoked Haddock Kedgeree were two other dishes ideal for cold winter days.
March
March saw plenty of Easter bakes linked up including some with creme eggs and although they do not really appeal to me, they are popular with many home cooks. I am a big fan of homemade hot cross buns so these Mini Tear and share Hot Cross Buns from the Proper Foodie gets my vote. Debbie has given them her own twist adding chocolate chips and a chocolate dipping sauce. Other Easter bakes included, Sew Historically sharing her Carrot Cake with naturally coloured marzipan carrots and a Peanut Cake with Caramel Buttercream (Also known as Bolo de Ginguba) from Jess Eats and Travels.
April
Who doesn't love to find unusual recipes? These Binangkal a type of fried bread from the Not So Creative Cook fits the bill and so gets my vote for April. Looney for Food's Sweet Potato Veggie Burgers came a close second.
May
As the weather warmed up in May I got a few salads and drinks being linked up. Corina from Searching for Spice regularly links up delicious looking recipes and this Harissa Chicken Salad is no exception. A Strong Cup of Coffee offered a London Mojito which sounded right up my street as did All That's Jas Classic Greek Frappe.
June
Now if this Pimms Cake from The Baking Explorer doesn't say Summer I'm not sure what does. I was also tempted by The Raspberry Custard Pie from Marlyn's Treats (not least because I grow my own raspberries so always on the look out for good recipes to use them in) and a rather amazing looking Cajun Chicken Burger from Apply to Face Blog.
July
These Chocolate Avocado Ice Lollies from Sneaky Veg offer a more healthy but just as delicious summer treat as does the Blueberry Kefir Smoothie from Tin and Thyme both of which were linked up in July.
August
I got into making cordials a couple of years ago and if you haven't already then I urge you to give them a try. They are really very easy to make and taste soooo much better than any you can buy and they have the advantage of no sweeteners or preservative in them. You could start with this Rose and Raspberry Cordial from Once Upon a Food Blog which was linked up last August. You will also find a couple here on Recipes Made Easy.
September
I can personally vouch for these Crusted Chicken Breasts with Mushrooms one of many fabulous healthy recipes from Monika on Everyday Healthy Recipes as I have made them and they make a quick and easy family meal
September saw the start of The Great British Bake Off and a rather fabulous peach Melba Crumble Cake was linked up by Mummy Mishaps who once again hosted a linky just for Bake off, which I for one enjoyed participating in.
October
Of course, October sees a lot of bloggers post pumpkin recipes. I love cinnamon buns (although I have yet to try a Cinnabon cinnamon roll even though they are now in the UK) so these Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls from Chippa by the Dozen certainly took my eye and are sure to taste even better than anything commercially made. The Garlic and Parsley Dough Balls linked up by Curly's Cooking are also sure to be better than any shop bought garlic bread.
November
November saw the first of the Christmas Recipes being linked up, but this Turkey and Wild Rice Soup from Flipped Out Food would be perfect for any cold winter evening. If soup doesn't take your fancy you could try a cup of warming Hot Apple Spiced Cider from Simple Gluten Free Kitchen. In America the term cider can mean both the fermented alcoholic beverage and the unfiltered, non-alcoholic apple juice. This recipe uses cold pressed, non-alcoholic, pasteurised apple juice but I am sure it would be just as good made with my own home fermented cider so it gets a yes from me.
December
My top Pick from the December link up was The Foodie Journey's Chocolate Brioche Bread Wreath, you might have realised that I have a bit of a thing for yeasted bakes, I blame it on being the daughter of a Master Baker. Unfortunately, I cannot share the image here but take a look at the blog, it is stunning. I was going to make it myself this Christmas but sadly ran out of time. These Sticky Christmas Pecans from Casa Costello were my next choice as they look so yummy and moorish!

Happy New Year Jacqui! What a fab idea for a first round-up! There are so many delicious recipes to look back on! Thank you so much for including my Lemon Curd Cheesecake too. Funny enough, it turned out to be my most popular recipe in 2018! To even better and tastier 2019! 🙂
ps. I can't see any images on your blog, only thumbnails and videos. I've tried few posts and they don't seem to be loading up.
Jacqui Bellefontaine
Im not surprised it was a popular post it looks lush. Thanks for letting me know about the images Im having a bit of an issue with cacheing at the moment thought it was sorted but sadly not. Have decativated the offending plugin for now.

Thanks for including us in the round up Jacqui! The kedgeree is still a staple in our house, it was due to me on the menu tonight but couldn't get un-dyed smoked haddock so its you're seabass with potatoes peas and bacon instead!

Happy New Year!!! Lovely idea for a roundup (I was wondering what you'd do as most of the linked up posts were very Christmassy) and thanks so much for including my Shepherd's Pie. What an amazing year it has been for CBS - it was so sad to lose Kirsty in the middle of the year, but I think CBS is now better than ever!! No disrespect to Kirsty - she laid a great foundation, but her leaving has paved the way for new blood and new ideas. Having guest hosts has been brilliant. And a massive thank you to you, Jacqui, for everything you have done to take CBS into its next chapter. Looking forward to seeing what 2019 brings 😀 Eb x
Jacqui Bellefontaine
Thank you Eb, you and Monika make it a great team to work with. I agree having regular guest host is a fabulous way to reach new people and stop it getting stale. I too look forward to seeing what 2019 brings
